About Me

My name is Ethan Gray and I'm a current Junior at Purdue University planning to graduate in Fall 2026. I'm majoring in Multidisciplinary Engineering, concentrating in Theatre Engineering, with minors in Theatre Design and Production, Theatre Performance, and Design and Innovation. I'm an aspiring engineer, creative, and storyteller, hoping to combine my love of entertainment with the science of engineering to create new story driven experiences.

What is
Theatre Engineering?

Theatre Engineering is a unique, ABET accredited engineering major at Purdue which explores the application of Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical engineering principles in entertainment environments. My coursework branches across schools in the College of Engineering and includes courses within the Department of Theatre's MFA Technical Direction program. This allows me to fully explore the applications of my engineering knowledge in live entertainment settings, including theme parks, concerts, and theatrical productions.

Leadership

At Purdue, I've had the opportunity to hold high level leadership positions within the College of Engineering. I currently serve as a Dean's Leadership Scholar, a student member of the College of Engineering Dean's advisory board. On this board, I offer a student perspective on policy proposals and current events on campus to provide further context and direction for the College. I am also a College of Engineering Ambassador, working with the College as a representative to alumni, donors, and industry partners. I also act as a liaison for the College's academic advisors, providing student oriented insights on Purdue's programs.
